According to information from the National Intellectual Property Administration, Guangdong Midea Cooling Equipment Co., Ltd., and Midea Group Co., Ltd. have been granted an important patent titled "External Rotor Motor, Fan Component, and Air Conditioner" (Publication No. CN 222531435 U). The patent application was filed in February 2024.

This innovative design involves a novel external rotor motor structure, including a stator assembly, a rotor assembly, and support components. The stator assembly consists of a stator with a central hole; the rotor assembly comprises a rotor rotating around the exterior of the stator and a shaft passing through the central hole and engaging with it. The rotor is divided into a ring section and an end cover section, with the former encircling the stator and the latter located on one side of the stator and connected to the shaft. Support components are arranged between the end cover and the stator, which can be either a first support fixed to the end cover or a second support mounted on the stator. This unique arrangement helps precisely control the gap between the rotor and the stator, effectively reducing the risk of bearing damage.

The newly introduced external rotor motor design by Midea not only demonstrates its strong capabilities in the field of technology research and development but also provides new solutions for enhancing the reliability and performance of air conditioners and other related products. By optimizing the internal structure of the motor, this design significantly reduces failures caused by bearing issues, improving the overall system stability and durability.
